I’ve been trying to find a trustworthy electrician in my area, but every site I land on feels either outdated or packed with ads and popups. I don’t want to call someone without some kind of reference or review. How do you folks usually go about finding dependable local services? Are there any places online that actually organize this stuff well?

Totally get the frustration—most search results are just noise. What’s worked for me is using regional directories that are actually maintained. For example, if you’re in Eastern Ontario, the Brockville, ON Online Directory is surprisingly helpful. It lists all kinds of local businesses, and you can browse by category, which saves time. Plus, it filters out a lot of junk listings. I found a great plumber through it last winter—reviews matched up, and the service was solid. Definitely worth bookmarking if you want reliable info.

It’s weird how something as simple as finding a good local business can turn into a whole research project. Having one place to check really cuts down the stress.
